Betina, Murter island
Ideal location and the proximity of the Kornati islands and the nautic marinas in Jezera (800 inhabitants), Betina (774 inhabitants) Murter (about 2000 inhabitants) and Tisno (1500 inhabitants), where the bridge connects the island with the mainland, Murter has become one of the most visited and most wanted nautical destination in this part of the Adriatic.
It was named after kelt word "bet" as meaning "mouth" that very picturesque describes the appearance and position of Betina port. It is situated on the island of Murter and from the Tisno, the place where the bridge from the mainland and the island, is about 7 km away.
Betina is situated in a port on the peninsula. Established in the 15th century by refugees from the mainland, that were seeking shelter before Turkish army .
Except traditional activities, fisheries and agriculture, the inhabitants of Betina are well-known as an excellent builders of fishing boats.
